Fraud for fake labels on products is increasing

In 2017, the NAS seized 6,887,226 food packages in companies, restaurants and supermarkets. The reasons are different: little hygiene but above all the frauds on the market increase for the fake labels on the products.

In fact, there has been an increase in non-compliant labeling, ie without any wording that does not allow the final consumer to trace the raw materials used to make the product. The same product can be found in the handouts of the restaurants but above all within the shelves of shops, supermarkets and hypermarkets.

To protect consumers, most Italian supermarket chains have a code of ethics with which they are committed to maintaining strict control over suppliers.
