Supporting international growth and managing multiple brands

Wonderfood have been operating in the premium pet food sector for over 20 years. The company is experiencing significant growth with its own brand Oasy, marketed in Italy and internationally. They are also the exclusive distributors for over 16 global partners, including household brand names such as Orijen and Ever Clean.

CHALLENGE

The pet food market has been enjoying double-digit growth over the last few years. To capitalise on this opportunity, Wonderfood were looking to introduce new variants and pack formats, but realised they needed a better way to accelerate and manage their NPD process to do so successfully.

With growth came other challenges, including increasing complexity in managing packaging, and the distribution of product information throughout the supply and retail chain. With 16 brands and translations into 18 languages (all requiring regulatory approval), this management process was becoming extremely time consuming, and leading to bottlenecks in artwork production.

 

SOLUTION

4Pack’s Product Information Management capabilities were central to meeting Wonderfood’s needs.

All of the teams involved in the product development process work within the system from the start, guaranteeing a “single source of truth”. Once final product information is approved, this is translated (including market-level regulatory management), and product sheets per SKU can be output. Product information can also be cross-referenced at every level – by ingredient compounds, by brand, by market, or by numerous other variables.

Packaging artwork management is transformed. All packaging formats can be dynamically updated with approved content, or easily amended by the Marketing team where required, all without the need for Design software or skills.

Finally, artwork, graphic assets and other sales and marketing materials are stored centrally using 4Pack’s Digital Asset Management function. Access to these files is secure, and structured according to roles and permissions by brand and market.
